He has a feeling that this may change at any time, especially given how suspiciously quiet it is, and he tells her this, too.
The Hellmouth in the high school of Sunset Falls may need a new guardian, but he also informs her that Mayor Loki is who she'll need to speak to regarding that. Someone had previously been irritating Cerberus by throwing things into the Hellmouth, but that, too, has been overly quiet lately. Like the world is holding its breath. . or maybe it's breathing a sigh of relief.
